A 4.9 magnitude earthquake strikes southwest China


A 4.9-magnitude earthquake occurred today, Saturday, in Yunnan Province, southwest China, according to the Chinese Seismological Center, and no information was received about casualties or damage. According to “Russia Today.”

The center’s report confirmed that the tremor was recorded at 10:29 local time (05:29 Moscow time) in Zhaotong City, Yunnan Province.

The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 10 km.

It is noteworthy that last Wednesday, Taiwan was hit by its strongest earthquake in 25 years.

The earthquake killed at least 9 people and injured more than 800 others on Wednesday.

It also caused damage to dozens of buildings, prompting the authorities to issue tsunami warnings.
