Damage as a result of a missile attack that hit a ship in Yemen

British maritime security company Ambrey said that three missiles were detected about 15 nautical miles southwest of the Yemeni city of Mokha, and the British Maritime Trade Operations Authority said that one of the ships was damaged.
The authority said in a note: “The captain reported two attacks. In the first attack, an explosion occurred near the ship and was felt by the crew.”

She added that the ship was apparently hit in the second attack by two missiles, resulting in damage to it.
Ambrey said in a memorandum that the tanker, which was not named, was on its way from Bimorsk, Russia, to Vadinar, India, when it was attacked.

Embry added in the memo: “The closest ship to the place (where the missiles were spotted) was a tanker flying the Panama flag, and it was previously owned by a British entity before its ownership changed in November 2023.”

The company continued: “At the time of writing (this memorandum), the owner of the tanker was registered in Seychelles and engaged in activities linked to Russia.”

The memo stated that the ship was sending an automatic identification system signal.
