The Houthis fired missiles at two ships in the Red Sea, and one of them was damaged

The US Army announced that the Houthis launched 3 anti-ship ballistic missiles towards the Red Sea from areas in Yemen, causing minor damage to one of the two ships, the Andromeda Star.

The US Central Command, Centcom, wrote on the “X” website that a missile fell in the vicinity of a second ship named Maysha, but it was not damaged.

Ambry report
The British maritime security company Ambrey said that three missiles were detected about 15 nautical miles southwest of the Yemeni city of Mokha, and the British Maritime Trade Operations Authority said that one of the ships was damaged.

The authority said in a note: “The captain reported two attacks. In the first attack, an explosion occurred near the ship and was felt by the crew.”

She added that the ship was hit in the second attack “apparently by two missiles, which resulted in damage.”

Ambrey said in a memorandum that the tanker, which was not named, was on its way from Bimorsk, Russia, to Vadinar, India, when it was attacked.

Embry added in the memorandum, “The closest ship to the place (where the missiles were spotted) was a tanker flying the Panama flag, and it was previously owned by a British entity before its ownership changed in November 2023.”

The company continued, “At the time of writing (this memorandum), the owner of the tanker was registered in Seychelles and engaged in activities linked to Russia.”

The memo stated that the ship was sending an automatic identification system signal. (Sky News)
