Nabatieh Municipality employees and workers continue their strike

The permanent employees and workers of the Nabatieh Municipality continue their strike for the fourth day in a row, demanding that municipalities be replaced with public sector employees, and that the state support municipalities and send the funds allocated to them.

The head of the Executive Council of Nabatieh Municipality Workers, Captain Mazen Nahle, said, “Our strike is continuing, but it does not include cleaning and waste collection workers, and our salaries are the lowest among public sector employees, so why should we be marginalized and our livelihood targeted under these complex and difficult economic and security circumstances, and we have been working throughout the week from Without negligence or negligence, they punish us with salaries that are very low compared to others. Here we call on the President of the General Labor Union, Dr. Beshara Al-Asmar, and his deputy, Engineer Hassan Fakih, to stand by us in our just demands.”

He added: “We explained our demands to the MPs of Nabatieh, to the Governor of Nabatieh, Dr. Howaida Al-Turk, and to the municipal action in Hezbollah and the Amal Movement, and we are about to resort to escalation, not against the municipality whose suffering we feel, but against those concerned in the state.”
