A new Israeli attack on Syria.. Hezbollah is the target!

The Israeli army announced, Tuesday evening, that it had attacked Syrian army infrastructure that was being used by Hezbollah.

In parallel, Israeli media reported on Tuesday that the army had made assessments of the northern front with Lebanon, including an increase in the pace of fighting, ground entry, and the possibility of launching a multi-front war.

The Israeli newspaper “Maariv” published a new report in which it said that “Hezbollah” will not be the initiator of implementing the Iranian response to the bombing that targeted the Iranian consulate in Syria more than a week ago.

The report, translated by “Lebanon 24,” revealed that the level of alert has risen significantly within the Israeli security apparatus, indicating that estimates indicate that the Iranians will attempt to take revenge on Israel through their agents in the region, that is, Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthis in Yemen, and groups loyal to Tehran in Syria or Iraq, and Israeli embassies around the world could also be attacked.

The report stated that the state of alert had also been raised on the northern border – for fear of a sharp reaction by Hezbollah towards the northern settlements.

The prominent Israeli researcher in Middle East affairs, Amitsia Baram, said that Iran’s expected response will not come through Hezbollah, noting that the latter represents Iran’s greatest success since Ayatollah Khomeini came to power in the country more than 40 years ago, and for this reason it will not risk Tehran: The party collapsed at the hands of Israel.

He adds: “Hezbollah is Khomeini’s legacy for the Iranians. It has also become one of the clear symbols of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, and it represents Tehran’s control outside Iran.”

According to Baram, the Iranians will indeed retaliate, but the retaliation will be done in a way that does not endanger Hezbollah’s existence. He added: “If the party takes the initiative to organize revenge and escalate the situation, the destruction in Lebanon will be its fault and it will face great resentment from the public in the country.”
