Today’s dollar price in Syria: The lira continues to recover

The price of the US dollar on the black market in Damascus was recorded at 12,800 liras for purchase and 13,000 liras for sale, while the same price was recorded in Aleppo, 12,800 liras for purchase and 13,000 liras for sale. In Idlib, the price of the dollar reached about 12,700 liras for purchase and 12,900 liras for sale, while in the eastern region (Al-Hasakah) it reached 12,400 liras for purchase and 12,600 liras for sale.

The price of the euro on the black market was 13,194 liras for purchase and 13,406 liras for sale, while the prices of the Turkish lira ranged between 360 liras for purchase and 368 liras for sale.

The price of the dollar in the exchange bulletin

On the other hand, the Central Bank of Syria announced a reduction in the exchange rate of the dollar in banks, bringing it to 13,000 liras for purchase and 13,130 liras for sale, while the average price recorded 13,065 liras per dollar.

The exchange rate of the euro against the Syrian pound reached about 13,399.10 pounds for purchase, and 13,533.08 pounds for sale.

As for the Turkish lira, its price was set at 367.53 Syrian pounds for purchase, and 371.20 Syrian pounds for sale.

The Syrian pound witnessed a noticeable improvement with the beginning of the new year 2025, as the official price of foreign currencies announced by the Central Bank of Syria exceeded the black market price, which represents a positive shift in the Syrian economic scene.

This improvement comes in light of the Syrian interim government’s move towards a free market economy, after years of economic challenges. This step is considered an indicator of the recovery of the lira, which reflects positively on the stability of the local economy.

Syrians expect this improvement to continue in the coming days, amid cautious optimism about the lira’s ability to regain more of its value against foreign currencies.
