Makiya participated in the consultative forum of the Islamic Development Bank Group

The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Judge Mahmoud Makkiya, the alternate governor of the Islamic Development Bank Group, participated in the consultative forum for the bank’s governors, which was held today in Medina in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

First, Judge Makkiyeh thanked the Bank Group for holding the meeting in the city of Medina, wishing continued security and security for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the preservation of its people and leaders. Judge Makkiyeh then thanked the Bank Group for adopting, to a large extent, the fifteen points that Lebanon had previously mentioned, on the twenty-fifth of Last December, in a survey of governors regarding the aspirations of member countries of the Group during the next ten years (the ten-year strategic framework of the Bank Group).

Makkah stressed the necessity of allocating member countries that have been exposed to devastating wars, crises, and major setbacks with gifts, or with soft or even very soft loans, and to adjust the priorities related to those countries according to the changes.

Makiya also stressed the need to focus support and direct it to member states and their institutions, especially since the directions of the new era in Lebanon, which were mentioned in the oath of office by the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, fall within the framework of activating state institutions in order to achieve the desired reform and its sustainability.

Judge Makiya wished the Bank Group not to give in to the incentives and temptations imposed by new patterns in the financial markets and to adhere to the principles of Sharia law, which provide a “sustainable moral economy” and a guarantee for those dealing with the Bank Group.
