Signing a cooperation agreement between Public Security and the Geneva Center for Security Sector Governance


A signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement was held between the General Directorate of Public Security and the Geneva Center for Security Sector Governance, within the framework of enhancing security and stability in Lebanon, in the presence of the Acting Director General of Public Security, Major General Elias Al-Bisari, the Canadian Ambassador Stephanie McCollum, and representatives of the Polish and Swedish embassies.

The Canadian Ambassador congratulated those who “had a role in reaching this important agreement, which will develop the work of Public Security and help serve civil society, especially in this critical and difficult time, to maintain the high standards that characterize the work of the Public Security Directorate as a leading institution in Lebanon.” Hoping for the continuation of organized and mutual cooperation between the organization DCAF And public security“.

In turn, Major General Al-Bisari delivered a speech expressing “the importance of the signed memorandum, which works to enhance security and stability in Lebanese society and ensures the protection of rights and freedoms through the program project “Providing gender-responsive security for males and females in Lebanon” by activating the role of public security in light of the challenges. The security and social issues that the country faces in order to build a security environment that enhances inclusiveness and ensures the protection of rights and freedoms for all alike.”

Major General Al-Bisari also stressed “the importance of strengthening cooperation between the two parties to the agreement to achieve common goals, and this memorandum will be an example to be followed in applying the principles of gender and justice in the security sector, in a way that enhances partnership and exchange of experiences to reveal positive results in Lebanese society.”
