China seeks to strengthen the ports and airports sector in the western regions of the country
China intends to take 15 measures to support development in the country’s western provinces by establishing logistics infrastructure projects such as central ports and airports.
Official media reported that the General Administration of Customs said that these measures would enhance integration between railways, air, river and sea transport in western China.
The measures include developing international hub airports in cities including Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming, Xi’an and Urumqi, while establishing comprehensive customs areas and integrating them with ports and other transport links. (Sky News)
