The US trade deficit is soaring


The US trade deficit increased significantly on an annual basis during last March.

The US trade balance also recorded an increase on a monthly basis, in light of the decline in exports from the largest economy in the world.

On Thursday, US Census Bureau data showed that America’s trade deficit rose by 12.1 percent to $91.8 billion on an annual basis last March.

On a monthly basis, the deficit increased by 1.7 percent.

US exports fell by 2.1 percent year-on-year in March, with imports increasing by 2.5 percent during the same period.

Exports also declined by 3.5 percent on a monthly basis, compared to a decrease in imports by 1.7 percent. (Sky News Arabia)
