After announcing a truce in Gaza soon.. How did Schulz comment?

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz revealed on Tuesday that “reaching an agreement between Israel and Hamas for a ceasefire in Gaza appears to be within reach after months of negotiations.”

Shultz expressed his hope that a quick agreement would be reached between Israel and Hamas regarding the release of the “hostages.”

A statement quoted him as saying, “The brutal crime committed by Hamas on October 7, 2023 is still fresh in everyone’s minds.” We realize how difficult any agreement with the terrorist organization Hamas will be for Israel. However, the lives of the hostages must now be a top priority.” Schulz also added, “Given the presence of a large number of German citizens among the hostages.”

The statement continued, quoting Schulz, that after long months of painful negotiations, it seems that an agreement is imminent, noting that it gives the opportunity to finally conclude a truce that will help alleviate the suffering in the Gaza Strip.

For his part, the Qatari mediator confirmed that reaching a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip is imminent.
