The National Commission for UNESCO in Bkerke presented its activities and future projects

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi received in the Patriarchal edifice in Bkerke, a delegation from the Executive Office of the National Commission for UNESCO, headed by its President, Dr. Shawki Sassine, and including: Secretary General Ramza Jaber Saad, Vice President Dr. Amal Bou Zein Al-Din, Treasurer Ziad Baydoun, and the official of the UNESCO Schools Network. Ms. Christian Jeitani.

After the meeting, Sassine said on behalf of the delegation: We were honored by the visit of His Beatitude Patriarch Mar Beshara Boutros Al-Rai to greet him with the glorious church holidays and the National Day represented by the election of General Joseph Aoun as the new President of the Republic and the assignment of Judge Nawaf Salam to form the new government.

He stressed that the patriarchal edifice is the home of the entire nation, because it is the meeting place of faith, humanity, and patriotic values ​​that constitute the meaning of Lebanon.

He added: During the meeting, we gave a brief presentation about the National Commission for UNESCO, its activities and future projects, and the obstacles that have obstructed its work in recent years. We also presented to His Beatitude a group of intellectual books and cultural publications issued by the Commission.

He said: It was a confirmation from His Beatitude that culture is the face of Lebanon and the mirror of its effective presence in the world.

He stressed the need to support the National Commission for UNESCO at all levels, given that it is the link between Lebanon and international and Arab cultural organizations.
