We have no enemies or allies


The Political Council of the Free Patriotic Movement held its regular meeting, headed by MP Gebran Bassil.

Following the meeting, the Free Patriotic Movement issued a statement congratulating His Excellency President General Joseph Aoun for his success in the presidential elections. He also affirmed his support for the President and the Covenant and his support for the implementation of the oath of office with all the promises it contained that lie at the core of the movement’s political program.

The statement added: The movement congratulated the Prime Minister-designate, Mr. Nawaf Salam, hoping to form a reform government that would cooperate with the President of the Republic to implement the oath of office and the required rescue program. The movement discussed the issue of forming the government and announced that it stands by the Prime Minister and assists him in the consultations he is conducting to form the government according to standards of justice, efficiency and success. The movement also praised what was stated in the speech of His Excellency President Salam, especially in terms of commitment to the constitution, completion of reform, and application of administrative decentralization.

Seal: The movement confirmed the words of its president that inside Lebanon we have no enemies or allies. The movement is independent and free from any obligations other than those taken towards the movement and towards the higher national interest. The movement announces its continued openness to everyone within the framework of its national convictions.
