Syrian intelligence thwarts an attempted bombing at the shrine of Sayyida Zeinab and arrests an ISIS cell
The Syrian General Intelligence Service announced its success, in cooperation with the Public Security Department, in thwarting an attempt by ISIS to carry out a bombing inside the shrine of Sayyida Zeinab in the vicinity of the capital, Damascus.
The Syrian News Agency, SANA, quoted a source in the General Intelligence Service as saying that the operation resulted in “the arrest of the people involved in this attempt, which was aimed at carrying out a major criminal act against the Syrian people.”
The agency confirmed that the General Intelligence Service continues to work with all its capabilities to confront any attempts that threaten the security and stability of the Syrian people of all walks of life.
