As of this date… Damascus Airport will resume international flights


The Damascus Aviation Information Control Department announced that Damascus International Airport may begin serving regular international flights starting at 08:00 local time tomorrow, Tuesday, January 7.

The department stated, in a statement to TASS, that “the restrictions imposed on flight service, which required obtaining special permits from the country’s aviation authorities, will be lifted starting from the specified time.”


The head of the Syrian Civil Aviation and Air Transport Authority, Ashhad Al-Salibi, announced last Saturday that Damascus International Airport would begin operating international flights starting on January 7th.

Al-Salibi told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA): “We announce the start of receiving international flights to and from Damascus International Airport from January 7.” (Arabic)
