America will ease restrictions on aid to Syria
The Wall Street Journal reported today that the administration of US President Joe Biden will announce easing restrictions on humanitarian aid to Syria and accelerating the delivery of basic supplies without lifting restrictions that restrict other aid to the new government in Damascus, according to what was reported by Reuters.
The newspaper said, quoting officials, “This step, which was approved by the US administration at the weekend, authorizes the Treasury Department to issue exemptions to relief groups and companies that provide basics such as water, electricity, and other humanitarian supplies.”
