An expert sets the start date for the month of Ramadan…and this is what he revealed about Eid al-Fitr
Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Astronomy Society and member of the Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences, expected that Saturday, March 1, will be the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, according to astronomical calculations.
He added: “The crescent of the month of Shawwal will be born on Saturday, March 29, and it will be tangent to the western horizon at sunset and will set 5 minutes after sunset. Therefore, it is expected that it will not be possible to see it, and the holy month will complete its 30-day count, and therefore Monday, March 31 will be the beginning of the month of Shawwal.” And the astronomically blessed Eid al-Fitr.” (Emirates 24)
