Microsoft pledges to invest $3.3 billion in Wisconsin

Microsoft intends to invest $3.3 billion to build a new data center for artificial intelligence in the US state of Wisconsin, in the latest addition to the growing global investments in developing artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Microsoft President Brad Smith is scheduled to join US President Joe Biden in Racine County, Wisconsin, to announce the new investment, which comes within a series of huge investments that the company has revealed in America, Europe and Asia to expand the scope of its artificial intelligence network.

Microsoft said the new site will initially create 2,300 jobs in construction, and eventually up to 2,000 jobs in data centers.

She added that she will also invest in a new artificial intelligence lab on the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee campus to train workers to use artificial intelligence technology. (Sky News)
