Lima left Santos last September, after the Brazilian media network Globo G published messages in which 19 female players anonymously accused him of harassment, but he returned this month after an investigation conducted by the club.

Santos said in a statement: “In order to preserve his family, his integrity and the Santos Football Club itself, Clayton Lima today asked to step down.
