Prime Minister-designate Nawaf Salam indicated, after his meeting with the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, that he informed President Joseph Aoun of “the results of the consultations with the parliamentary blocs, and the atmosphere is more than positive and the process of forming the government is going on the right path, and I will soon announce the names of the ministers of the new Lebanese government.” .
He said: “We will know the position of Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on the government after preparing the government formation.”
He added: “I insisted to French President Emmanuel Macron that the Israeli withdrawal take place immediately and not be delayed. Otherwise, this threatens the stability of the country, and the entire international community must put pressure in this direction.”
He continued: “We are counting on France’s support, not only with regard to the Lebanon Reconstruction Conference, but also what can be revived from previous projects that were not implemented, and we are interested in technical assistance from France to modernize laws and the work of institutions.”
