Gomez comments on Al-Fateh’s harsh defeat by Al-Hilal

Al-Fateh coach Jose Gomez commented on his team’s 9-0 defeat by Al-Hilal, in the Saudi Roshan League.

Gomez confirmed that he bears responsibility for Al-Fateh’s major defeat against the leader, during press statements following the meeting, where he said:

“As long as I led the team in the match, I must bear responsibility for any result. We win and lose together.”

“I bear full responsibility for this match, and I must help the players recover and play the next match.”

“When you don’t score goals from your chances, any simple mistake you make against a team like Al Hilal will make you fall behind and lose.”

“We conceded 5 goals from set pieces. We made a mistake by positioning in low areas during crosses and corners.”

“We knew before the match that Al Hilal is as strong as any team coached by Jorge Jesus, and they are influential on the edges of the field, and we trained on how to confront that, but we did not succeed in stopping them.”
