The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the caretaker government, Abdullah Bou Habib, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, at a dinner.

He discussed the situation in Lebanon and the region, and presented the titles and priorities of the next stage in Lebanon after the election of General Joseph Aoun as President of the Republic, and the assignment of Judge Nawaf Salam to form the new government.

Minister Bou Habib congratulated Denmark on its election as a non-permanent member of the Security Council for the period 2025-2026, stressing that “Lebanon is counting on its support for its just causes in the Security Council, and in the European Union, which will chair its Union Council in the second half of this year.”

Bou Habib thanked Denmark for “all the aid and projects it provided to Lebanon in the humanitarian, health and other fields,” expressing “Lebanon’s aspiration to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries and open a Lebanese embassy in Denmark.”
