Mikati leaves Beirut for Syria on an official visit
Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati left the capital, Beirut, this afternoon, heading to Syria on a one-day visit, in response to an invitation from the leader of the new administration in Syria, Ahmed Al-Sharaa.
Mikati heads a Lebanese delegation that includes Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Abdullah Bou Habib, Acting Director General of Public Security, Major General Elias Al-Bisari, Director of Army Intelligence, Brigadier General Tony Kahwaji, and Deputy Director General of Public Security, Brigadier General Hassan Shuqair.
This visit comes within the framework of strengthening bilateral relations between Lebanon and Syria, and discussing common files between the two countries in light of the current regional circumstances.
