European Union sanctions on Syria may be lifted soon if progress is achieved

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot announced that the European Union may soon lift sanctions imposed on Syria, which are currently impeding the delivery of humanitarian aid and hampering the country’s recovery.

In an interview with France Inter radio, Barro indicated that there are ongoing discussions with European partners regarding the possibility of lifting additional sanctions if progress is achieved in specific areas such as women’s rights and achieving security in Syria.
