Chad announces the death toll after the attack on the presidential palace
Chad announced, on Wednesday night, that 19 people were killed, including 18 attackers, during an attack on the presidential palace in the capital, N’Djamena.
Foreign Minister and government spokesman Abdul Rahman Kalam Allah told Agence France-Presse that the attacking armed group consisted of 24 people, all of whom were killed or wounded.
He pointed out that “among the attackers, the toll is 18 dead and 6 wounded, while among the government forces, one person was killed and 3 wounded, one of them seriously.”
The Chadian government confirmed that “the situation is completely under control, after an attempt to destabilize it was eliminated, after gunfire was heard in the center of the capital.”
