A severe snow storm hits the United States and disrupts travel (video)

A blizzard of snow, wind and freezing temperatures created dangerous travel conditions in parts of the central United States as a devastating winter storm brought the possibility of the “heaviest snowfall in a decade.”

Snow and ice covered major roads in parts of the states of Kansas and Indiana, where the National Guard was deployed in both states to help stranded motorists.

At least 8 inches of snow is expected, especially north of Interstate 70, where the National Weather Service has issued winter storm warnings extending from Kansas and Missouri – where blizzard conditions have been reported – all the way to New Jersey through Monday.

The Meteorological Service said on Sunday morning: “For locations in this region that are exposed to the highest amounts of snow, the snowfall may be the heaviest in at least a decade.” (Russia Today)
