Hamas has not provided a list of hostages’ names yet

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said on Sunday that Hamas has not provided a list of hostage names “until this moment.”

A Hamas official told Reuters earlier on Sunday that the movement had agreed to a list of 34 hostages to be exchanged as part of a possible ceasefire agreement.

Israeli Channel 13 reported on Saturday that Israel was awaiting a response from Hamas, while adding that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had agreed to an “sufficient mandate” for the Israeli negotiating delegation in Doha.

For its part, the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that “the mediators are trying to find solutions to Israel’s demand to obtain a list of the names of living Israeli prisoners.”

On the other hand, the Hamas movement declared “its seriousness, positivity, and endeavor to reach an agreement as soon as possible in a way that achieves the aspirations and goals of the people, the most important of which is stopping the aggression and protecting the people in light of the genocide and ethnic cleansing practiced by the occupation.”

On Saturday, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed the resumption of indirect negotiations with Hamas in Qatar in order to release the hostages held in the Gaza Strip.

A statement issued by Katz’s office said that he informed the parents of hostage Liri Albag, of whom Hamas had previously published a video clip, “of ongoing efforts to release the hostages, including the Israeli delegation that left yesterday (Friday) for talks in Qatar,” adding that the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave “precise directions for the continuation of negotiations.”

The Hamas movement published a new video of a 19-year-old hostage, in which she says that her survival is linked to the withdrawal of the Israeli army.

In the video posted by Hamas on its Telegram channel, which is 3 minutes and 34 seconds long, the girl, Liri Albag, said: “We are not a priority for our government or our army.” (Sky News)
