A missile on Tel Aviv and explosions… and a clarification from the Israeli army


The Israeli army announced at dawn on Sunday that it had intercepted a missile launched from Yemen, shortly after sirens sounded in areas of the country.

The army said in a statement posted on Telegram: “After the sirens sounded a short while ago in Telme Eliezer, a missile launched from Yemen was intercepted before it crossed into Israeli areas.”

Media reported that explosions occurred in central Israel as a result of attempts to intercept the missile.

On Friday, the Israeli army announced that it had detected a missile launched from Yemen and entering Israel’s airspace.

The Houthis and Hezbollah launched attacks against Israel in solidarity with the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip in light of the war between Israel and Hamas that broke out on October 7, 2023.
