In response to the rumors circulating in some media regarding the resignation of His Beatitude the Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Bechara Boutros Al-Rai, the Dean of the Maronite General Council, former Minister Wadih Al-Khazen, affirmed categorically that this news is baseless and has nothing to do with the truth.

Al-Khazen pointed out in a statement that His Beatitude the Patriarch is firm in his position as head of the Maronite Church, and is performing his duties with great responsibility at the ecclesiastical and national levels, as he has always done.

Al-Khazen called on all media outlets to return to the official references in the church before publishing any inaccurate or fabricated news, in order to preserve the credibility of the media and respect public opinion.
