The latest information about the Lebanon truce…a warning from Trump!
The Israeli newspaper Jerusalem Post said on Friday that sources close to US President-elect Donald Trump conveyed a warning to Israel about the collapse of the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon.
The 60-day deadline according to the ceasefire agreement is supposed to end on January 26, noting that this period was granted to the Israeli army to complete its withdrawal from southern Lebanon after a ground incursion it carried out there starting in October 2024.
The newspaper quoted Israeli officials as indicating their intention to remain in southern Lebanon, even after the expiry of the withdrawal deadline, due to what they described as the slow deployment of the Lebanese army.
Days away from the end of the 60-day deadline for the armistice, pressure is increasing to extend the ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and the occupation, before Trump returns to the White House.
Israeli Channel 12 revealed from sources that Trump wants to see the ceasefire continue in Lebanon.
The channel quoted Trump aides as saying that he is interested in peace in the Middle East, focusing on internal issues.
