Qatari meteorology: Our country is safe from earthquakes

After registering a 4 -ranging earthquake on the Richter scale on the Qatari -Saudi border, the Meteorological Department of the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that the State of Qatar is safe from earthquakes, denying the existence of any seismic risks that threaten the country, according to the Qatari newspaper “Al -Raya”.

The Meteorological Department explained that this tremor was monitored through the organs of the National Earthquake Center, noting that its geographical location is outside the scope of the direct impact on the state, and the population in Qatar was not felt.

She added: Qatar is located within a relatively stable geological area, far from active seismic belts known globally, making the possibility that it will expose it to very strong earthquakes. (Arabic)
