Raise the minimum wage for the public and private sectors .. This is what will happen next week

It was learned that a date for the index committee meeting was set on April 11 in the Ministry of Labor in the presence of all concerned, in order to put an initial study on how to improve the minimum wage.

In this context, the President of the General Labor Union, Dr. Bishara Al -Asmar, told «Lebanon 24“During the meeting, opinions will be exchanged, and we may need more than one meeting, especially since the situation of the country is uncomfortable and we are witnessing a continuous security deterioration, and the course of business is not actually not at the required level, but we have no options except to increase the minimum wage and the high cost of living because the worker can no longer live with 18 million pounds, or 200 dollars per month.”

Al -Asmar stressed that “there has been a necessity to approve deliberate increases and understand it to move the economic wheel because everything that the worker receives is pushing in the market to housing, basketball, medicine, hospitalization, official schools, communications and transportation, that is, everything he receives to spend in order to be able to secure his family duties monthly.”

He considered that “offering increases is a right offering, and there must be a minimum wage in the public and private sectors proportional and consistent, and that it is one for the two sectors.”

He pointed out that “the public sector needs to restructure and approve a series of new ranks and salaries,” calling for the speedy implementation of these matters that started to study during the era of the previous government. “

He continued: “We are currently calling in the minimum to integrate the so -called aid in the core of the salary in the public sector so that those who serve in this sector can be able to serve in this sector, whether it is civil or military to benefit from this integration by compensation for the end of service, especially since the military tasks of the army, security forces and great public security at this stage, so it is necessary for all studies to include the process of merging military salaries.”
