The events of the Syrian coast .. These are its political and security repercussions

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed that more than 830 people were killed in operations in the Syrian coast area, described as the most violent years.

With the increasing international claims to investigate these events and hold the officials accountable for them, observers raise fundamental questions about the repercussions of this escalation on the country’s future.

While the United States and the United Nations called for an independent and transparent investigation, the Syrian government announced the formation of an official investigation committee, confirming that it would not be tolerated with any party to prove its involvement in these crimes.

However, this step did not relieve criticism, especially since the previous investigations experiences did not achieve actual results.

The security and political dimension of the massacre .. What happened?
Observers note that these “massacres” come in the context of the ongoing tensions between the security forces and the armed factions, but the analyzes differ about the nature of political and military responsibility, and their effects on the security situation in the country.

In this context, a researcher at the Middle East Institute in Washington, Samir, sees the pious during his talk to the newsroom on “Sky News Arabia”, that these events reflect a deeper problem related to the relationship of the Syrian administration to its security and military devices, noting that the continued security solutions without real reform may lead to more crises.

Al -Taqi asserts that what the Syrian coast witnessed is not just an isolated event, but rather the product of a long accumulation of the absence of institutional control over the security services.

Al -Taqi believes that the recent escalation presents fundamental challenges to the Syrian regime, as it is required to present a new model of government, away from violent security treatments, which have proven their failure to contain popular anger, and adds: “What is happening today is a natural result of the absence of a clear strategy to manage the crisis. Dependence on repression will only lead to more divisions, and this massacre may be a turning point in how the international community deals with the Syrian crisis in the future.

Without justice .. the tragedies will be repeated
The writer and journalist Omar Kush believes that the focus on “official investigations” will not be sufficient unless there is a real will to achieve justice.

“The problem is not the formation of the investigation committees, but rather the seriousness of these investigations and their ability to reach the real perpetrators,” says Kush. We have previous experiences that such committees are often used as political tools to absorb international anger, then files are folded without any real accountability. ”

A balanced official letter, but there are no mechanisms for implementation
Political researcher Noureddine Al -Baba believes that the statements of the Syrian President in the transitional phase Ahmed Al -Sharaa carried a more balanced tone compared to previous positions, as he talked about the need to control security without prejudice to the rights of civilians, but, as the Pope indicates, the problem is not in political discourse but in the ability to implement it in practice.

The Pope says: “The regime is trying to present itself as a stability force, but the continuation of violent security operations undermines this discourse. There is a clear gap between official statements and actual practices on the ground, and this gap makes it difficult to build any real credibility.

He warns that the continuation of the current approach may lead the country to a new stage of internal escalation, adding: “If there is no radical transformation in the way to deal with the opposition and the various components of the Syrian society, the danger of internal disintegration will remain, because security treatments alone did not prove their effectiveness in the long run.”

A comprehensive national project, not sectarian approaches
As for the director of the “Gnosos” research institutions, Ammar Waqaf, he believes that the discussion about the recent events must go beyond the traditional security and political framework, towards a broader vision that includes real national reconciliation that is not based on sectarian foundations.
