We will not allow any external forces to drag Syria into a civil war

On the impact of the recent developments in the Syrian coast, the Syrian President, Ahmed Al -Shara, reaffirmed that Syria will not be drawn into a civil war.

He added in a speech on Sunday evening, that Syria is facing the threat of the former regime’s remnants, announcing the formation of a supreme committee for civil peace.

Al -Shara said that there is no choice in front of the remnants except to surrender immediately, and that Syria will not be drawn into a civil war.

“We will be held accountable for those involved”
He also explained that it will not be tolerated with the remnants of the previous regime, and everyone who is involved in the blood of civilians will be held accountable.

He affirmed the criminalization of any invitation or call calling for interfering with Syria affairs, or any calls to sow sedition, and we will not allow any external forces to drag Syria into a civil war.

He pointed out that the people will be contacted in the Syrian coast to listen to them.

In a brief speech delivered at the Al -Akram Mosque in Al -Mazzeh area in Damascus, at dawn today, Al -Shara called for the preservation of civil peace and national unity.

Al -Shara also clarified that what happened in the coast was “among the expected challenges”, in reference to the “regime’s remnants” to spread sedition and stir up confusion.

Tension, clashes and ambushes
It is noteworthy that since last Thursday, tension and clashes in several areas in the Syrian coast, inhabited by a majority of the Alawite sect, has been inhabited by a security group to arrest one of the wanted persons.

However, he refused to surrender itself, then groups of “the remnants of the former regime” began to set up ambushes of the security forces in the Sahel areas, so that the confrontations were extensively exhausted.
