Nabatieh faces destruction … the largest Ramadan lantern on the ruins of its destructive commercial market

Despite the destruction of the war, the city of Nabatieh refused to pass the blessed month of Ramadan without being happy in the hearts of its residents. In a scene that documents the power of will and love of life, the people insist on celebrating the holy month with the most beautiful heritage customs.

Among the most prominent of these habits is the Ramadan lantern, which has risen this year on the ruins of a prominent teacher, the destroyed commercial Nabatiyeh Market. After the Nabatiyeh visitors used to preview the lantern against the Serail, the war did not succeed in blurring this annual habit, because hope in Lebanon remains stronger than pain.

The Nabatiyeh Governorate Traders Association decided to install the largest lantern amid the rubble of the Nabatiyeh commercial market, which was destroyed by Israel following a violent raid targeting streets that are vital for the city economically and services.

For the symbolism of this giant lantern and its aesthetic, the people and visitors rushed to take beautiful memorial photos, while the Nabatieh Traders Association announced its willingness to launch the annual commercial festival, in an attempt to move the economic wheel in the city after the bloody war.

The festival will be held in the devastating Nabatiyeh Square in front of the Ramadan lantern, in support of the affected traders and shops with the aim of reviving the economic movement after the aggression.

So, Ramadan events this year in Nabatieh exceeded the mere celebration of the holy month, but it is a message of steadfastness, hope, limiting difficulties, and affirming the will of life despite the darkest conditions.
