Security measures at Beirut Airport are very strict

The Minister of Public Works and Transport, Fayez Rasamani, commented on the measures taken by the Lebanese authorities to protect the Beirut International Airport and the ports in the face of smuggling operations, noting that there is a tendency to build a second airport in Lebanon. He stressed that the project is part of the government’s plans and is being coordinated with the presidency and the prime minister, with the start of the necessary studies to implement it.

With regard to security measures at Beirut Airport, Rasamani stressed that the airport protection is a top priority for the government, stressing that the authorities have taken strict measures to ensure the security of the airport and travelers. He explained that he conducted a tour with the ministers of the Interior and Finance to listen to the needs of the airport security apparatus, and that they will provide the airport with all the necessary capabilities to maintain its security.

In response to a question about whether these measures are aimed at preventing an Israeli military escalation, Rassamini confirmed that the measures are necessary for all airports in the world, and that Beirut airport is not an exception.
