Hamas rejects the American proposal and considers it to be biased towards Israel

Hamas spokesman, Hazem Qassem, confirmed today, Monday, that the proposal presented by the American envoy Steve Wittouf around the Gaza Strip is fully consistent with the Israeli position.

In a press statement today, Qasim stressed that a proposal Witakouf aims to hand over all the hostages without Israel’s commitment to stop the war on the Strip.

Qasim criticized Israel’s attempts to pressure the negotiating team through military escalation and its punitive measures against the sector, stressing that these attempts will not pay fruits, no matter how much the aggression continues.

And Israel and the United States held fully responsible for the disruption of reaching a permanent agreement, considering that offering unacceptable formulas reflects the intention of the government of Prime Minister Benambin Netanyahu to thwart efforts to calm down.

He warned of the consequences of Israeli decisions on the people of the Strip and the fate of the Israeli prisoners with the resistance, stressing that Israel bears full responsibility for these results.

He also considered that the proposal “Witkeov” serves Israel’s desire to extend the first stage of calm without making any real concessions.

In a related context, Qasim was accused of returning to the policy of starvation and blackmailing political positions by closing the crossings and preventing the introduction of humanitarian aid to the sector, describing these measures as a “scandalous violation” of the ceasefire agreement.

He stressed that stopping the entry of aid today is a “new crime” added to the record of Israeli violations against the Palestinian people.

Qasim called on the international community to assume his responsibilities and immediately move to put an end to these aggressive policies aimed at starving the Palestinians and imposing more pressure on them to achieve political gains. (Russia today)
