The director of the security of the Damascus countryside, Lt. Col. Hossam Tahan, confirmed in statements to the Syrian News Agency (SANA), on Sunday, that the Syrian security forces began to deploy inside the city of Jaramana, after those involved in the assassination, Ahmed Al -Khatib, who worked in the Ministry of Defense, refused to surrender themselves, noting that “work to arrest those involved to bring them to the fair judiciary.”

Tahhan said: “Our forces will end the chaos and illegal barriers carried out by outlaw groups that have pursued kidnappings, killings and robbery by force of arms.”

He pointed to the refusal of the militants out of the state’s authority all mediations and agreements, stressing that “a Syrian geographical spot will not remain outside the control of state institutions, and we have touched from the people of the city of Jaramana with great cooperation.”

The armed factions in the city indicated that an element of internal security was killed by mistake, after he entered the city as a civil, not military.
