Despite the calls of Ocalan … continuous clashes between the Kurdistan workers and the Turkish army

The clashes between the Kurdistan Workers Party and the Turkish army continued in the areas of Dohuk Governorate, despite the recent calls by the party leader Abdullah Ocalan to the party elements to throw arms and resolve themselves, according to “Russia Today”.

According to social media accounts, clashes occurred in the Nahil area of the Amadiyah district in Dohuk Governorate, where party fighters launched attacks on the sites of the Turkish army, in light of harsh weather conditions and thick snowfall.

For its part, Al -Arabiya news channel reported that violent clashes erupted on Thursday night/Friday between the party’s militants and the Turkish forces at the foot of Jabal Metin, within the Al -Amadiya district, north of Dohuk Governorate.

This comes at a time when Ocalan called on the party to hold a general conference and dissolve itself, stressing that it bears historical responsibility for this decision.

A copy of the Ocalan statement was issued in the Arabic language, in which it indicated that “the Turks and the Kurds have sought for more than a thousand years to preserve their existence and steadfastness in the face of the dominant powers, which made the voluntary alliance a permanent necessity for them.”

In his statement, he stressed “the need for a democratic society,” saying that “solutions based on extremist nationalism, such as the establishment of a separate national state, federal, autonomy, or cultural solutions, do not meet the requirements of historical social rights of society.”
