With an uncommon technology in Lebanon … a complex operation for a child at the Dio Hospital

“A rare and complex operation in the pediatric surgery department, under the supervision of Dr. Lara Rafoul. After a hernia was diagnosed in the diaphragm known as Morgan’s hernia and successfully treated by using endoscopic surgery, the hernia was discovered by chance during an examination of a 5 -year -old child after falling from a height of 3 meters.

He pointed out that “the surgical team chose an innovative technique that included the application of surgical threads. This technique is not common in pediatric surgery in Lebanon, but it has proven its high effectiveness in ensuring a tight and permanent closure of the diaphragm.
