Support efforts to restore sovereignty and accomplish reforms


The Lebanese -American Coordination Committee (LACC) announced, in a statement, that “as usual, it toured annually in the period between February 25 and March 2, in the American capital and hold meetings in the White House, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the House of Representatives, the Senate and some research centers in Washington, The United Nations’ permanent missions of the UN Security Council and the United Nations in New York will meet.

She emphasized that “her meetings this year are gaining exceptional importance due to the geo-political transformation in the Middle East, and the return of the regularity of constitutional institutions in Lebanon, because the clear sovereign and reformist messages that the committee holds indicating cumulative results that it has worked on since its foundation in 2021.”

She indicated that “the committee will present a working paper that converges the challenges that it summarizes with security and sovereignty, judicial, economic and financial reform, sovereign control over the border with the end of every illegal weapon, and the positioning around the geo-political challenges.”

She pointed out that she added to her paper recommendations that: support the new sovereign government, ensure full sovereignty over Lebanese territory with pressure to the full withdrawal of Israel from Lebanese territory, and to continue to support Lebanon while strengthening governance and economic reforms, enhancing the capabilities of the Lebanese army and internal security forces, and expanding efforts Diplomacy to confront Iranian influence and Hezbollah, and to encourage the transformation of Lebanese foreign policy towards positive neutrality.

The committee concluded its working paper, stressing that “the new leadership in Lebanon represents a decisive opportunity to end contracts of political stalemate, economic mismanagement and unrestricted Hezbollah domination. The weakness of Hezbollah, the fall of the Assad regime, and the decline in Iranian influence provides a rare window for Lebanon to restore its sovereignty and stability. However, this opportunity will be lost unless the Lebanese government, with strong international support, takes decisive measures to disarm all non -governmental factions, implement reforms, and re -impose state control. Stably and democratic Lebanon is a key pillar in cooperation with the United States of America. The adoption of a clear and coordinated strategy that enhances Lebanese sovereignty and strengthens state institutions, will be necessary to ensure long -term stability in Lebanon and the region.

It is an indication that the Lebanese-American Coordination Committee (LACC) includes the following institutions: The American-Lebanese Institute of Policy (Alpi-Pac), the Assembly for Lebanon (AFL), the Lebanese-American Renaissance partnership (LARP), Lebanese for Lebanon (LFLF), The Lebanese Information Center (LIC), the Lebanese Cultural University in the world (WLCU), and with them the Civil Impact Forum (CIH) as a Lebanese consultant organization, and the executive director of the forum was supposed to be fulfilled on its tour, but health conditions prevented this.
