Ukraine and the United States are approaching a new agreement … investments against minerals

Kiev announced today, Monday, that Washington are working on setting details of an agreement that would give the United States access to Ukrainian natural resources for American support.

“The Ukrainian and American teams are in the final stages of negotiations on reaching an agreement on minerals,” said Prime Minister Olga Stefanishina on the X platform, adding that “negotiations were very constructive, as almost all the main details have been completed.

Earlier, US Treasury Secretary, Scott Payette, confirmed that the draft agreement on the United States’ investment of Ukrainian natural resources does not include any military guarantees for Ukraine.

“I expect President Zellinski will sign the agreement, and it does not include any military guarantees, but it assumes the guarantees of US investment in the economic future of Ukraine,” Pisent said in an interview with the American “Fox News” channel on Sunday.

He added: “I call this with guarantees of economic security,” as he put it.

Pesint explained that the deal is part of US President Donald Trump’s strategy for negotiations on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, adding that “the first part of this is the partnership between Ukraine and the United States that includes strategic minerals, energy resources and government industrial facilities.”

He added, “We will start cooperation in these areas, and this will be useful for both parties.” (Arm News)
