We carried out an exceptional plan to ensure public safety during the funeral ceremony



















The General Directorate of Civil Defense stated in a statement, that “in implementation of the directives of the Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Brigadier Ahmed Al -Hajjar, and under the direct supervision of the Director General of Civil Defense by assignment, Brigadier Nabil Farah, civil defense teams implemented an exceptional plan to ensure public safety during the funeral ceremony of Mr. Hassan Nasrallah and Mr. Hashem Safi Religion at the Sports City Stadium – Beirut.

She pointed out that “starting from midnight on Saturday – Sunday, civil defense elements are stationed from workers and volunteers with fire and ambulance mechanisms at the following vital points: Qib Elias Junction, Saadnayel near the mosque, Dahr Al -Baydar, Autostrad Sofer – the Arab Highway Junction, high entrance, Al -Hazmiyyah, the Levant Road, down, a triangle of his immortality, under the bridge of his immortality, the Damour Highway – Al -Naama, Bechara El -Khoury, Al -Kokudi, Shatila Roundabout, Al -Ghobeiri Square, UNESCO – Ras Beirut, Haret Hreik near the targeting site, Al -Tayaynah, Airport Bridge, Autostrum of Hammoud Karnina, and round. The concentration continued on these points until the completion of the ceremonies and the evacuation of squares and roads, as part of a deliberate plan to secure the rapid response to any emergency.
She added: “In the same context, and to complement the public safety security plan during the funeral ceremony, civil defense teams spread today at a number of vital points in the town of Deir Al -Nahr Law to secure the funeral ceremony of Mr. Hashem Safi Al -Din. The following points were identified for the concentration: Al -Abbasiya Junction, Autostat for Rahal Tower, Triangle of the River Law, Al -Sarafand entrance – Al -Sarafand Highway, Triangle of the People’s Science Hospital, and the Arcony Triangle, in order to ensure the speed of response to any emergency and secure the general safety of the participants.
She continued: “In the details, from midnight Saturday until Sunday morning, civil defense teams have carried out a number of rescue and firefighting tasks in different areas as a result of the repercussions of the polar depression and the accumulation of snow. Where the teams saved cars stuck on the Dahr al -Baydar road due to the slip, and pulled the parking on the road to the Bawarq road, in addition to withdrawing two large buses (each of which includes 30 passengers) on the Dahr al -Baydar road, one on the main road and the other on the road to Bouarbar. The teams also took with the withdrawal of three mechanisms belonging to the Internal Security Forces on the Road of Barag, in addition to saving dozens of cars stuck due to the harsh weather conditions. The teams also responded to a fire that broke out in a car on the Khaldea highway and was extinguished, and saved citizens from slipping, so to transport the passengers in Saadnayel.
She announced that “during the ceremony organized yesterday, Sunday, civil defense teams responded to several emergency cases that included the transfer and ambulance of injured people due to urgent health cases, fall, fainting, and burns. The ambulance teams were quick to provide first aid in the field for 29 cases, and 11 injured were transferred to the hospitals according to the following distribution: 3 to the Great Messenger Hospital, 3 to the Sahel Hospital, including a child, 2 to Al -Zahra Hospital, 1 to Hariri Hospital, 1 to Al -Hayat Hospital And 1 to Saint George Hospital, in coordination with the civil defense representative at the Ministry of Health.
She explained that “Brigadier Farah took direct supervision of field operations, which contributed to enhancing coordination and speed of response, which had a positive reflection on the safety of citizens.”
She concluded: “In this context, the General Directorate of Civil Defense confirms its continuous commitment to protecting lives and property, and praises the great efforts made by its elements to achieve the success of this humanitarian mission.”
