Snow covered villages and mountainous towns in Akkar, where snow touched a height of 400 meters and above, which led to an unprecedented frost wave for many years.

The accumulation of ice on the roads and the frozen of the water in the homes, which led to the difficulty of movement.

The bulldozers of the Ministry of Public Works and Civil Defense, in coordination with federations and municipalities, operate the roads and remove the snow that surrounded some cars.

For his part, the head of the Union of Municipalities of Jabr al -Qayta, Abdel -Ilah Zakaria, appealed to the citizens not to move except in cases of extreme necessity, warning that the vehicles that follow the mountain roads are equipped with metal chains, or that they are a quadruple type to ensure public safety.

He also pointed out that “the bulldozers of the Federation in cooperation with the municipalities are working to open roads.”

In a related context, the first respondent team in the Union of Municipalities of the Al -Qaita Municipalities running a field patrol to provide assistance and guidance in the areas most affected by the snowstorm.

This patrol aims to face the challenges resulting from the accumulation of ice on the roads that pose a risk to traffic and the safety of citizens.

The team also appealed to everyone to be careful and follow the guidelines of harsh weather conditions, especially in the areas that witness the accumulation of ice, and advised to avoid going to the dug area due to the dangerous conditions there.
