California requests $ 40 billion from Congress to recover from fires

California Governor Niusum, Gavin News, asked Congress nearly $ 40 billion to finance disaster confrontation, to help Los Angeles recover and rebuild the areas that destroyed forest fires last month, the Washington Post reported.

“It will require an approach that includes everyone to rebuild after the destroyed fires in Los Angeles,” NiSum said in a post on the X platform.

“I ask Congress to support the American people and provide funding to counter disasters to help California residents recover and rebuild as soon as possible,” said the governor of California.

The Pacific Palisids regions in Los Angeles and Eddina on the eastern side of the city witnessed the worst forest fires that erupted in January. At least 29 people were killed in fires that destroyed or destroyed more than 16,000 buildings.

In his letter to Congress, Newsom wrote that California may require more money in the future, but the required funds “will directly support these societies in immediate and long recovery necessary to rebuild life and property.”
