The unemployment rate in Morocco increased to 13.3% in 2024

The unemployment rate in Morocco increased to 13.3 percent in 2024 compared to 13 percent in 2023, according to the Monday Planning Commission.
The delegate said in a statement that the number of unemployed at the national level reached one million and 638 thousand, an increase of 58 thousand people, including 42 thousand in urban areas and 15 thousand in rural areas.

The number of unemployed increased to 16.9 percent in urban areas from 16.8 percent last year, and to 6.8 percent from 6.3 percent in the countryside.
The data showed unemployment, especially among young people, between 15 and 24 years, to record 36.7 percent, while the certificates holders reached 19.6 percent and women 19.4 percent.
The public budget in Morocco expected the country’s economy to grow 4.6 percent and the inflation rate by about two percent in 2025. (Sky News)
