The “RIA Novosti” agency quoted the Kremlin as saying that Russian President Vladimir Putin had a phone call to the transitional president in Syria, Ahmed Al -Shara.

According to the Kremlin, Putin stressed in an interview with Al -Sharaa his initial position in support of the unity, sovereignty and integrity of the lands of Syria.

He also stressed Russia’s constant readiness to help improve the social and economic situation in Syria, including providing humanitarian aid to its people.
