He expressed his support for the initiative carried out by the Al -Solh family in Baalbek, which called for solidarity with the clans, noting that step, because what combines the residents of the Baalbek -Hermel region is very important, especially since that region has not fully observed in forming the government, especially the Sunni component .

He said: Solidarity with clans is required, but some data issued by the Sunni and Shiite families and clans, not in their place, because it includes insults against some, which can be reflected negatively in the Lebanese interior, and this matter must be folded strongly.

Mahfouz pointed out that the consultative meeting of the elites in the Baalbek -Hermel region calls for there to be an active role for elites from all these components towards stressing national unity, and facing the risks that the extremist religious right can benefit from, specifically the base and ISIS, recalling the negative results that It had been about the incursion of some of these religious forces in a previous period in the Arsal and other parts, stressing the unity of Arsal, Baalbek, Hermel, Al -Ain, Al -Qaa and Ras Baalbek towards avoiding such incoming dangers, especially since the region today is on a barrel barrel.

He denied that the ongoing events on the border have a relationship with the delay in the formation of the government or hitting the covenant, stressing that the residents of Baalbek – Hermel are mainly betting on President Joseph Aoun, especially since he previously cared about the gardens of those areas and the opening of the roads, and this reminds us of the Shihabi stage that linked the parties to the state, calling To link those parties to the center, especially in light of the presence of federal proposals that may sweep that region.

In the government, Mahfouz wished success to the designated President Nawaf Salam, especially since he had succeeded in the International Court, and therefore he has to take into account the special circumstances in Lebanon, which consists of sectarian components, and this assumes openness, tolerance and building the social carrier that can shake the abnormal sectarian and sectarian system Which is the cause of Lebanon that caused many wars in it.

He noted the history of the designated president, who is supposed to reflect his orientation towards strengthening citizenship and taking into account the peculiarities of the Lebanese situation, and that the government be in the right path, not to return us to reminding previous governments of all kinds.

On the campaigns that are launched through the media on some ministerial names, he said: Leave the residents of each region to determine their options, and I hope that the regions of their different parts are represented specifically the parties such as Akkar, Tripoli and Baalbek – Hermel, and the current Lebanese model is not a repetition of the system of disposal that limits the idea of ​​the state only In Beirut and its vicinity.

Regarding the return of President Saad Hariri on February 14, Mahfouz commented: Prime Minister Hariri has a Lebanese general sympathy and his moderate line is a model for what the Prime Minister -designate Nawaf Salam should depend on.

I hope that President Saad Hariri will regain his place and decent place in the Lebanese situation, and that President Salam will be guided and used, especially since this country needs wide solidarity and the priority of moderation on any other direction, and not to leave the inflammatory voices in influencing President Salam’s direction.
