Trump did not rule out the two -state solution, but “without Gaza”

US National Security Adviser Mike Waltz announced today, Wednesday, that President Donald Trump “has not ruled out the two -state solution in the future.”

However, Waltz said in his statements to the American “CBS” news network, that Trump was indicating that the Palestinian state “would only include the West Bank, not Gaza.”

When asked whether Trump’s plan to control Gaza and turn it into an international economic center means the end of American support for the two -state solution, Walz replied: “Certainly I have not heard the president say it is the end of the two -state solution.”

Waltz added: “You have the Palestinian Authority, and you have the West Bank.”

Waltz indicated that Trump also said during his press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on Tuesday, that the Palestinians will also be allowed to live in Gaza once it is rebuilt.

However, Trump stated at the conference that the residents of Gaza needed “permanent” resettlement elsewhere.

Waltz said that the United States is talking to its allies in the region about this matter, and added: “The president communicates with our main allies and asks them to provide their opinions and ideas.”

In the same context, Waltz stressed that the United States and Israel agreed that Hamas cannot stay in Gaza, stressing Washington’s support for Israel in its “defense of itself.”
