The General Directorate of Civil Defense in the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities announced in a statement that the General Directorate of Civil Defense keeps pace with the meteorological department warnings in Lebanon regarding the ACIL Snow Storm, which is expected to start influencing Lebanon from tomorrow morning, Wednesday, February 5, 2025, and will continue until evening Friday. The storm will be accompanied by heavy rains, strong winds that may reach a speed of 80 km/h, with thick snow falling on the heights of up to 900 meters. Seoul and throats for soil on mountain roads are also expected, which may lead to difficulty in moving and blackout, which poses a threat to citizens ’lives and safety.

The statement added: In this context, the General Directorate of Civil Defense remembers the honorable citizens of the precautions to be taken to ward off the potential risks resulting from this storm, and calls for adherence to the following preventive guidelines to preserve the safety of everyone:

Foundations for dealing with heating means:
Chaudières: – The burns should be cleaned regularly, especially the sprays. When installed, it is necessary to separate the cards and diesel tanks and place them in separate rooms.
Electric heater: – Ensure the safety of its electrical supplies.
Gas: – Ensure that the gas hose is healthy and free from cracks, and it is preferable to replace it annually.
Coal: – Ensure that coal is fully ignited before entering the room, and periodically ventilated the place.
– Detachting any combustible materials in front of the exposed heating methods (such as curtains and covers).
House ventilation constantly, especially when using coal, firewood, or gas.
Not to put clothes near heating devices to dry them.

Electricity -related guidelines:
– In the event of a malfunction in the electricity cutter (dengers), the cause must be known before replacing it.
Avoid using many electrical appliances (such as the iron) on the same electrical socket at the same time.
Electrical appliances should be stopped when they are used.

Public safety guidelines during road mobility during the snowstorm:

First: Before driving:
– Conducting the car and ensuring the validity of the tires.
Refrain from driving after drinking alcoholic beverages.

Second: While driving:
Avoid driving quickly or recklessly.
Commitment to traffic laws.
– Adherence to the guidance of elements of the Internal Security Forces and Civil Defense.

Third: In mountainous areas: before driving on the roads, please make sure:
Provides metal chains for car tires, backup and lever safety.
– Antigel is placed in the cooler (Rediator).
Take the medications you take regularly (pressure, heart, etc.).
Having a dry hand battery.
Download a small folding header.
Provide a first aid bag.
– Owning a cell phone with a charger running on the car battery.
Ensure that there is enough fuel in the car tank.

Fourth: While driving on mountain roads:
Avoid heading to mountainous areas except when extreme is necessary.
Follow the weather in the media.
– In the event that you have to roam, make sure to check your car and provide it with metal chains, backup cupboards, food, water and medicines.
Do not run the heating device if the ice begins to flood the car.
Leave your car to the right of the road if you cannot follow up.

Guidance for residents in mountainous areas:

Not to leave the heating methods on the open flame system, burning when sleeping or leaving the house.

Lightning prevention:

1- If you are inside the car:
– Stay inside and close the windows and do not touch any part of the metal or glass tire of the car.
2- In the city:
– Stay at least a few meters away from open windows, electrical boxes, and home appliances.

Outside the house:
